The Zhitong Finance App learned that recently, KPMG released the “2026 Global CEO Outlook” report, which covers 1,400 corporate CEOs around the world. The report shows that network and data security risks surpass factors such as economic uncertainty and geographical turmoil to become the number one risk limiting the growth of global enterprises in the next three years. At the same time, cybersecurity and digital resilience have also become the primary investment direction in enterprise risk prevention and control.

According to the data, 31% of CEOs surveyed ranked network and data security as the biggest threat to enterprise growth, higher than 28% of global economic uncertainty, geopolitical turmoil and regulatory pressure accounting for 26%, and supply chain resilience risks accounting for 24%. Faced with the severe cyber risk situation, 45% of global CEOs said they have increased investment related to cybersecurity and digital risk resilience, which is higher than other risk hedging investment areas such as compliance supervision (36%) and business AI integration (32%).

The report points out that large-scale applications of artificial intelligence bring about continuing to rise in risks such as novel cyber attacks and data breaches, and cybersecurity is deeply tied to AI implementation. Despite prominent risks and challenges, 79% of global CEOs still regard artificial intelligence as a key investment track for the next three years. While promoting digital transformation, companies are simultaneously strengthening the construction of a secure foundation to balance technological innovation and business resilience.
