10:06 AM EDT, 10/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cybersecurity agencies in Europe urged governments and organizations to take their websites offline to protect their systems in response to warnings about critical security vulnerabilities in the PHP programming language. In a Wednesday alert, the UK's National Cyber Security Centre called on organizations to identify systems running any version of PHP and monitor them for malicious activity. Valtori, the Finnish government's information and communication technology service provider, said it is assessing the situation and investigating potential measures to mitigate the vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, the Netherlands' National Cybersecurity Center temporarily took its website offline as a precaution as it works on resolving the matter.
