Viewing insider transactions for NITCO Limited's (NSE:NITCO ) over the last year, we see that insiders were net buyers. This means that a larger number of shares were purchased by insiders in relation to shares sold.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Chairman & MD Vivek Talwar for ₹789m worth of shares, at about ₹69.19 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of ₹73.13. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider bought shares at close to current prices. Vivek Talwar was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.
