S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX: XJO) shares are down 0.4% to 8,800.7 points today.

Among the 11 market sectors, industrials is the leader, up 1.2%, while energy shares trail their peers, down 2.1%.

Let's check out some new recommendations from leading analysts (courtesy The Bull).

Ramelius Resources Ltd (ASX: RMS)

The Ramelius Resources share price is $3.55, down 0.8% today and up 1% over 12 months.

Michael Gable from Fairmont Equities has a buy rating on this ASX 200 gold mining share.

Gable said:

Gold prices appear to have bottomed after trading much higher in early 2026. The share prices of various gold mining stocks have held up well, and this sign of strength is bullish.

I'm expecting gold mining stock prices to rally higher from here as they follow potentially higher gold prices.

RMS is an Australian gold producer with no debt and strong free cash flow.

It pays a fully franked dividend and has been buying back shares.

RMS is highly leveraged to an increasing gold price and the company's outlook is bright.

Santos Ltd (ASX: STO)

The Santos share price is $9.18, down 1.5% today and up 45% over 12 months.

Andrew Wielandt from DP Wealth Advisory has a hold rating on this ASX 200 energy share.

Wielandt explained:

Santos remains one of Australia's leading energy producers with exposure to oil, LNG and domestic gas markets.

The company's portfolio generates significant cash flow and management continues to focus on capital discipline, shareholder returns and debt reduction.

However, with the Middle East outlook mixed at present, energy prices remain volatile and investor sentiment towards traditional energy companies continues to fluctuate with commodity prices and the global economic outlook.

Santos offers attractive income and cash flow characteristics, but uncertainty around commodity prices and future growth projects suggests STO remains a hold.

Check out the official government forecasts for commodity prices, including oil and gas, from FY27 to FY31.

Harvey Norman Holdings Ltd (ASX: HVN)

The Harvey Norman share price is $4.06, down 2.6% today and down 44% over 12 months.

Wielandt has a sell rating on this ASX 200 consumer discretionary share.

He commented:

The retail giant has benefited from resilient consumer spending and its property portfolio. However, the business faces several challenges.

Household goods, furniture and electronics remain highly competitive categories, and increasing online competition is pressuring margins.

Lower interest rates are unlikely until at least mid to late 2027, so earnings growth may slow following several years of strong performance.

Given the mature nature of the business and limited catalysts for material growth, investors may find more attractive opportunities elsewhere.
