01:28 AM EDT, 10/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Newron Pharmaceuticals (NWRN.SW) completed patient enrollment in its late-stage study of evenamide, a potential schizophrenia treatment. The phase 3 Enigma-TRS 1 study will assess the biopharmaceutical company's proprietary investigational first-in-class glutamate modulator as a potential first add-on therapy to second-generation antipsychotics in treatment-resistant schizophrenia patients, according to a Thursday release. The company enrolled 618 patients at more than 80 study centers across Europe, Asia, Latin America and Canada. The double-blind, placebo-controlled study will continue for 52 weeks, with the topline 12-week data expected in the first quarter of 2027.
