Saudi Arabia (SASE:7030), d/b/a Zain KSA, and Ooredoo (ADX:ORDS) completed the first phase of their regional telecommunications tower joint venture, combining 4,000 towers in Kuwait and Qatar. The transaction brings together the tower portfolios of Zain Kuwait and Ooredoo Qatar under a jointly owned platform, with each company holding a 50% stake, according to a Thursday release. The telecommunications groups plan to gradually add further tower portfolios to the venture, subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.
