On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of $1.20. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $1.14 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.08 per share.

The bank posted revenue of $133.6 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $101.7 million.

Amalgamated Financial shares have risen 49% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 79% in the last 12 months.
