Betsson walked into Q3 2026 earnings with the stock at SEK94.45, flat over the past week and slightly weaker over a month, as investors weighed margin pressure against a low 10.2x P/E and a discounted cash flow estimate far above the current quote. The headline this quarter is clear: revenue reached a new high at €326.5m, while net income came in at €26.3m. However, trailing profit margins are well below last year at 9.2% versus 16.4%.
In the short term, that margin squeeze explains the muted share response. Over a longer horizon, the key question is whether Betsson’s business mix and cost base allow those profits to rebuild from here.

Supporters of Betsson argue that heavier B2C expansion, powered by technology and disciplined spending, can carry earnings even as regulated markets bite into gross profit.
"The main thing that has to go right is that Betsson offsets structurally higher gaming taxes and lower gross margins from locally regulated markets with stronger B2C growth, effective use of proprietary technology and AI, and disciplined cost control."
Q3 offers partial validation. B2C revenue grew strongly and now makes up about 86% of group turnover, with Latin America up 52% and casino at record levels. At the same time, gross margin compressed to 56% as gaming taxes and payment fees rose, and EBIT margin of 14.1% remains well below last year. Volume milestones are clearly being hit, while the promised margin offset is only progressing gradually.

The bearish worry is that Betsson’s heavier tech and product spend simply will not translate into richer earnings quality.
"Although Betsson continues to invest in proprietary technology, AI tools, new front end frameworks and native apps, the associated increase in personnel costs of about €3 million per quarter and higher ongoing operating expenses mean that if these projects do not translate into higher value per customer, the company could see sustained EBIT margin compression despite top line B2C growth."
Q3 points in that direction. B2C turnover and active customers reached records yet gross margin slipped to 56% and EBIT margin sat at 14.1%, well below last year. Higher gaming taxes, payment fees and marketing, especially in Latin America, absorbed much of the extra revenue. Sequential EBIT margin improvement helps, but the burden from lower B2B revenue and rising regulated market costs means the margin rebuild milestone is still not met.
Betsson shows how strong reported earnings can still face lasting profitability pressure. The real opportunity often sits in stocks that could be undervalued before expectations reset.
