Dometic Group (OM:DOM) Q3 Results Reveal An Impairment Driven Loss
Share
Listen to the news

Dometic Group came into this Q3 2026 report with a stock that has been grinding lower for months, down roughly 9% over 90 days to SEK20.22 by Thursday’s close. The long term story has often been about a global leisure and mobile living brand waiting for a cyclical rebound. The fresh numbers tell a harsher tale. Management booked a loss per share of SEK13.71 and took about SEK4.2b of goodwill and intangible impairments, which turned this quarter into a blunt reality check for anyone still treating this as a straightforward recovery play.

Concerned that Dometic Group’s impairment heavy loss points to deeper balance sheet issues rather than just a slow cycle? Compare this setup with companies screened for stronger finances and cleaner fundamentals in our list of solid balance sheet and fundamentals stocks (204 results)

Dometic bull case meets restructuring reality

The optimistic story around Dometic Group rests heavily on mix shift, cost cuts and product renewal doing the heavy lifting.

"Global restructuring, including closure of 1 manufacturing site and 5 distribution centers with SEK 350 million in annualized savings already running against a SEK 750 million target by the end of 2026, has the potential to lift EBITA margins even if top line growth remains modest."

The latest quarter shows organic growth at 3% and an EBITA margin of 9.7%, which is weaker than last year. Savings are clearly flowing, and a new SEK215m program lifts the total target to SEK1,115m. However, margin traction is not visible while Mobile Cooling and Global Ventures face pressure.

Bear case on demand and leverage gets fresh fuel

On the risk side, the worry is that soft demand and a stretched balance sheet overpower Dometic Group’s self help plan.

"Leverage sits at 3.3x and the company is relying on improving free cash flow and moderate growth to reduce net debt. If working capital reductions, the receivables program and planned divestments do not deliver as expected, interest costs and balance sheet risk could stay elevated and limit future earnings growth."

Q3 free cash flow was negative SEK90m and leverage is now 3.4x, slightly higher than a year ago despite SEK750m of debt repayment. Impairments of about SEK4.2b highlight balance sheet sensitivity, while weak U.S. RV and marine markets keep the path to faster deleveraging uncertain.

Spot Potential Disconnects Beforehand

Dometic Group’s impairment heavy quarter shows how fast a balance sheet story can change. The real opportunity is finding stocks that could be undervalued before the market adjusts expectations.

  • Company 1 - 45% below our estimate - sell large format LED systems into sports, transport and youth venues as projects shift to digital displays.
  • Company 2 - 38% below our estimate - run local pay in and pay out rails for merchants as online volumes consolidate onto a single platform.
  • Company 3 - 22% below our estimate - shift from exporting refined fuel to building a retail network that captures more margin from domestic energy demand.

That is three of the list. See the full list of 191 companies trading below our fair value estimates →
