05:55 AM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- IG Metall warned of industrial action at Volkswagen (VOW.F) unless the carmaker reverses a decision to cancel wage deals, Reuters reported Friday, citing Thorsten Gröger, the union's head of the Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt district. At a press conference, Gröger gave the German company a deadline of Oct. 31, 2026, ahead of the expiry of an existing no-strike truce on Jan. 1, 2027. Volkswagen did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
