Key Points

  • Bloom Energy raised full-year revenue guidance to $4.4 billion to $4.6 billion.

  • Third-quarter revenue grew 138% year over year to $1.24 billion.

  • Non-GAAP operating income reached $286 million in the third quarter.

On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 22, 2026, Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) raised its full-year revenue outlook to between $4.4 billion and $4.6 billion, up from $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion. Surging electricity demand from artificial intelligence data centers is pushing commercial customers toward on-site fuel cell generation. Three takeaways from management explain why this shift matters for long-term investors.

1. Revenue Guidance Doubles as Demand Outpaces Capacity

Management upgraded full-year revenue guidance for the third time this year, projecting 2026 growth of about 122% at the midpoint versus last year. It's seeing customer demand for rapidly deployable on-site power drive backlog growth faster than current shipments can keep up with.

2. Operating Leverage Powers Profit Growth

Quarterly revenue reached $1.24 billion while operating expenses grew at a much slower pace. That discipline expanded operating margins and generated $286 million in non-GAAP operating income, a measure of profit from core business operations.

Operating margin for the quarter expanded to 23.1% from 8.9% a year ago. As revenue grew 138% while operating expenses grew only 26%.

3. Utility Partnerships Open New Growth Horizons

An American Electric Power contract for 700 megawatts of server capacity showcases how utilities are using on-site generation at the front of the meter, or directly on distribution networks. Integrating carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), which traps emissions before they escape, opens a trillion-dollar market opportunity.

AEP revealed that 700 MW of carbon capture and sequestration-enabled Bloom Energy servers will be used to provide [Alphabet's] Google with near net zero electricity in a first of its kind project.

Looking Ahead

Demand for on-site electricity is surging as data centers outgrow traditional grid infrastructure. Bloom is expanding manufacturing capacity while maintaining pricing discipline to fund its growth.

As global power requirements rise, on-site fuel cells offer faster deployment than utility grids. That structural advantage positions Bloom Energy to lead a transformation in energy delivery.

Fuel-cell-based on-site power will become a preferred choice and complement to the grid for power delivery across all industries and geographies.
