Bufab just dropped its Q3 2026 report and the share closed today at SEK132.60 after a choppy few weeks that left the price down about 7% over one month. The headline is not weakness. The group posted SEK2,236m in sales with record gross and operating margins that point to a business squeezing more profit out of each krona of revenue.
That is where the sentiment gap opens. Traders have been selling a stock on a rich P/E multiple, while the latest quarter shows margin power that challenges the idea this is an overhyped distributor.

The bullish story focuses on Bufab turning pricing discipline and Asia expansion into structurally higher profitability.
"The gradual strengthening of gross margins for seven consecutive quarters suggests ongoing improvements in trading efficiency and value-based pricing, which could enhance future net margins."
Q3 provides supporting evidence. Gross margin reached 34.3% and adjusted operating margin was 15.6%, both record levels, with adjusted EBITDA up 28%. Asia Pacific posted 28.4% organic growth, a 6.0pp gross margin increase and a 21.1% operating margin, which indicates Bufab is converting its China and India expansion into higher quality earnings rather than just volume.
The bear story highlights that patchy demand and integration work could still affect Bufab’s trajectory.
"The uncertain market conditions in Europe, particularly in the North and East region, coupled with a significant variation between countries and customer segments, may impact revenue stability and predictability."
Q3 only partly addresses that concern. Europe North & East grew sales 3.2% with better margins, yet management still notes weakness in construction and furniture. The Americas remain soft, with sales declining 6.6% and organic revenue falling 8.0% despite a strong 20.8% operating margin. Integration work continues, with D.C. Iron and Novia still in the process of being fully integrated.
