Musk wrote that as a commercial service for civilian use, Starlink will never be allowed and should never be used to control offensive drones to carry out killings. Starshield is another independent system that is controlled by the US government, and it is up to the US to decide how to use this system. The Ukrainian military violated Starlink's terms of service and used it to launch offensive drone strikes causing casualties. The relevant vulnerability was blocked last week. Starlink remains critical to Ukraine's defense; at least for now, it is the only communication system that cannot be interrupted or destroyed. If Starlink were to be shut down, the Ukrainian front would collapse instantly. This is not a threat; it is just an objective fact. At the beginning of the war, Russia destroyed or interfered with all other means of communication in Ukraine. Starlink also played a key role at the time, preventing the Russian army from crushing Ukraine. SpaceX's contribution to Ukraine's defense far exceeds that of any private enterprise on Earth. Even so, he has nothing but contempt for militants who advocate endless killings, but cannot come up with a realistic solution to the conflict, and only show moral posturing.
