Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bagae mocked US Secretary of State Rubio on Sunday about accusing Iran of attacking merchant ships. Bagae said, “Rubio accuses Iran of attacking ships, saying, 'We have never seen such a situation since World War II and the Caribbean pirates'.” Bagae compared Rubio's remarks with Trump's statement on May 1 about US control of ships and crude oil cargoes. Bagae quoted Trump at the time: “We are like pirates, a bit like pirates.” Bagaé said, “If the president were to learn that his Secretary of State would quickly forget his proud statement as a pirate, I'm afraid he wouldn't be very happy.”
