The Zhitong Finance App learned that Bank of China International released a research report saying that China Coal Energy (01898)'s profit for the third quarter of 2026 was 4.692 billion yuan, up 8% from the previous quarter of the bank, which was 7% lower than the bank's previous forecast. The difference was mainly due to higher than expected production costs per unit of coal. The bank expects the company's profit for the fourth quarter to increase 6% month-on-month due to stronger thermal coal prices. Due to the recent weakening in stock prices, the bank believes that China Coal Energy's H shares currently correspond to a dividend yield of 5.8% to 6.5% for the 2026-2028 forecast period, which is attractive, so it raised the rating to “buy” and raised the target price to HK$11.42.
