Bandwidth’s year hinged on very specific moves, such as becoming Salesforce’s critical infrastructure provider for its Agentforce Contact Center, rather than a vague story about “AI hype.” Holding Bandwidth over the past year would have returned 160.5%, including dividends. If you had been deciding on 23 October 2025, you had to weigh bullish AI and cloud migration forecasts against worries about customer concentration, regulation, and thin margins. Were those early signals really strong enough to justify that kind of commitment?
This theme extends beyond Bandwidth. See which of 55 AI infrastructure stocks may still merit a closer look.
The shares cost US$16.36 at the start of the period, so any view on Bandwidth had to start with whether that price matched the story you believed.
The bullish case pointed to a Fair Value of US$21.5, a rough guide to what that thesis implied the stock could be worth if its assumptions played out, built on 9.2% annual revenue growth and AI voice applications lifting revenue per call through the Maestro platform.
The bearish view set Fair Value at US$15, based on 7.8% revenue growth and concern that over the top messaging and strict privacy rules would pressure legacy telephony revenue and margins.
Bandwidth’s Q2 2026 report showed revenue at US$219.9m and net income of US$2.4m, compared with Q2 2025 revenue of US$180.0m and a loss of US$4.9m. Net margin moved from -2.7% to 1.1%. That shift toward profitability supported the optimistic case that the AI and cloud push could improve earnings, while low single digit margins kept the cautious view on profitability alive.
The hinge assumption here was whether AI-heavy contracts would translate into better economics rather than just higher usage. For any other stock with a similar story, the figure to track is net margin alongside revenue, to see if new products or platforms are lifting profit quality as well as scale.
Bandwidth now trades at US$44.18, after gaining 160.5% over the past year. The selected Narrative puts its Fair Value above that level, linking the gap to how durable AI voice usage, software services ARR, and large enterprise contracts prove to be on the company’s own network.
On this view, anyone paying today’s price is effectively judging whether current revenue growth, early AI traction, and margin progress still understate the long term earnings power of Bandwidth’s Maestro and Communications Cloud platform.
"The main thing that has to go right is that Bandwidth converts its early AI voice traction, software services growth, and large enterprise wins using Maestro and its Communications Cloud into durable, higher margin usage across its owned global network."
