The Zhitong Finance App learned that on October 26, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange issued an announcement announcing that the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission has approved amendments to the relevant exchange rules to tighten the trading price limit for all securities (except structured products) from nine times to five times. The new regulations will officially take effect on November 2, 2026 (Monday).

The optimization measures relating to the “nine-fold limit” are as follows: for all securities other than structured products, the threshold will be tightened from nine times to five times the current price. If the input price for a buy or sell order deviates five times or more from the market price, the relevant trading order will not be accepted; however, the relevant rules for structured products will remain unchanged. If the input price for a buy or sell order deviates nine times or more from the scheduled price, the relevant trading order will not be accepted.

According to reports, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange arranged non-mandatory internships and pre-launch tests on October 10 and October 31, respectively, to allow participants to further familiarize themselves with the relevant arrangements and verify that the system is ready before the implementation of the “nine-fold limit” optimization measures.
