06:46 AM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Volkswagen (VOW.F, VOW3.F) agreed to partner with NXP Semiconductors (VNX.F, NXPI.VI) to support the development of its future software-defined vehicle architecture, according to a Monday release. Under the agreement, the semiconductor group's S32K5 family of microcontrollers will be integrated into the automotive company's technology ecosystem, with the first vehicle with the new technology released in 2027. The partnership forms part of Volkswagen Group's broader semiconductor strategy, which uses long-term partnerships with chipmakers to strengthen supply resilience and develop technology for future vehicle generations.
