The hospitality company said the recommendations bolstered its view that adding Corvex's nominee James Gemmel is "unnecessary" and could potentially disrupt the execution of its current five-year plan, which it noted was "already delivering early results" following its latest half-year results. Additionally, Whitbread pointed out that the proxy adviser Glass Lewis concurred with the majority of the company's core arguments, even as it supported Corvex's proposal.
