The Zhitong Finance App learned that Israeli defense technology company Elbit Systems (ESLT.US) announced that it has obtained a contract worth about 200 million US dollars from an undisclosed Asia-Pacific country to provide airborne intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) and training solutions. Boosted by this news, Elbit Systems rose 2.4% to $753.36 before the market on Monday. Since this year, the stock's cumulative increase has exceeded 28%.
Bezhalel Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, said: “We are proud to provide our customers with innovative capabilities to improve mission effectiveness, situation awareness, and combat readiness across a wide range of airborne missions.”
Details of the $200 million contract revealed
According to reports, this contract will last for a maximum period of five years and mainly includes the following elements:
SPECTRO 12 is supplied, a compact multispectral intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) and targeting payload that can be integrated into a helicopter. The system combines high-resolution multispectral sensing, laser pointers, and AI-driven image processing technology to achieve remote target detection, recognition, tracking and strike in complex combat environments and harsh weather. This payload is designed for platforms with strict size, weight, and power consumption restrictions.
The contract includes follow-up support and upgrade services for the airborne live training system installed on the aircraft. These systems support air-to-air and air-to-ground training scenarios, covering real-time combat simulations, weapon scoring, and mission replay.
Elbit will also provide an advanced head-up display (HUD). The system has high-resolution display technology, enhanced video capabilities, and low power consumption to meet the combat needs of various airborne platforms during the day and night.
Just got a $235 million order for European rockets last week
Notably, last week, Elbit announced that it had obtained a contract worth approximately US$235 million to supply an undisclosed European customer with EXTRA-MR (medium-range) rockets and PULS (Precise Universal Launch System) rocket systems.
The contract was awarded by the Ministry of Defense of Israel and the Ministry of Defense of the client country through an intergovernmental agreement for a period of three years. In addition to the PULS launcher, it also covers other rocket-related platforms and comprehensive logistics support.
The mood of retail investors is paranoid
Despite the company's recent success stories on the order side, retail sentiment did not rise. On the Stocktwits platform, retail investor sentiment about Elbit remained in a “bearish” range over the past 24 hours, and discussions were at a “normal” level.
