Newsflash: Northpointe Bancshares, Inc. (NYSE:NPB) Analysts Have Been Trimming Their Revenue Forecasts
Share
Listen to the news

The analysts covering Northpointe Bancshares, Inc. (NYSE:NPB) delivered a dose of negativity to shareholders today, by making a substantial revision to their statutory forecasts for next year. Revenue estimates were cut sharply as the analysts signalled a weaker outlook - perhaps a sign that investors should temper their expectations as well.

Following the downgrade, the consensus from three analysts covering Northpointe Bancshares is for revenues of US$213m in 2027, implying a considerable 14% decline in sales compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are presumed to climb 15% to US$2.51. Prior to this update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of US$274m and earnings per share (EPS) of US$2.69 in 2027. It looks like analyst sentiment has fallen somewhat in this update, with a pretty serious reduction to revenue estimates and a small dip in earnings per share numbers as well.

It'll come as no surprise then, to learn that the analysts have cut their price target 7.6% to US$17.75.

Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. These estimates imply that sales are expected to slow, with a forecast annualised revenue decline of 11% by the end of 2027. This indicates a significant reduction from annual growth of 14% over the last three years. Compare this with our data, which suggests that other companies in the same industry are, in aggregate, expected to see their revenue grow 8.0% per year. It's pretty clear that Northpointe Bancshares' revenues are expected to perform substantially worse than the wider industry.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away is that analysts cut their earnings per share estimates, expecting a clear decline in business conditions. Regrettably, they also downgraded their revenue estimates, and the latest forecasts imply the business will grow sales slower than the wider market. The consensus price target fell measurably, with analysts seemingly not reassured by recent business developments, leading to a lower estimate of Northpointe Bancshares' future valuation. Often, one downgrade can set off a daisy-chain of cuts, especially if an industry is in decline. So we wouldn't be surprised if the market became a lot more cautious on Northpointe Bancshares after today.

Even so, the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for the value creation of shareholders. We have estimates - from multiple Northpointe Bancshares analysts - going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here.
