Listen to the news

Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO) stock rose nearly 2% in Tuesday’s premarket trading as investors showed renewed interest in major technology stocks. Nasdaq futures gained 0.32%, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.19%.

Meanwhile, investors remain focused on Broadcom’s role in the artificial intelligence infrastructure boom. Demand for custom AI chips and networking equipment continues to shape the company’s growth outlook.

Anthropic’s $63 Billion Financing Deal Boosts Broadcom

Broadcom shares gained more than 2% Monday and continued climbing Tuesday. The gains followed news of a $63 billion financing package tied to Anthropic’s AI infrastructure plans.

The funding will support purchases of Broadcom’s custom chips and networking equipment. Major financial firms, including Bank of America, Blackstone, Citi and Morgan Stanley, helped arrange the financing.

Equipment deployments are expected to begin in 2027. As a result, the deal could provide Broadcom with greater visibility into future AI hardware demand.

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan also played a key role in advancing the agreement. He reportedly supported stronger financial guarantees and higher interest rates sought by participating banks.

AVGO Technical Analysis: Key Levels To Watch

Broadcom continues to face technical pressure despite Tuesday’s rebound.

The stock trades 3.1% below its 20-day simple moving average (SMA). It also sits 5.3% below its 50-day SMA, 9.7% below its 100-day SMA and 8.4% below its 200-day SMA.

Additionally, the 20-day average remains below the 50-day average. The stock also formed a death cross in October when its 50-day average fell below its 200-day average.

These signals suggest that sellers could return during rallies.

Meanwhile, the moving average convergence divergence indicator, or MACD, remains below its signal line. Its negative histogram also points to weakening buying momentum.

As a result, Broadcom may need stronger demand to sustain its recovery.

Key resistance stands at $366.50. A move above this level could improve the stock’s near-term outlook and encourage further buying.

Meanwhile, key support sits near $336. The premarket price is slightly below that level. Further weakness could increase the risk of a decline toward the 52-week low of $289.96.

Broadcom shares have lost 9.08% over the past 12 months. The stock also remains well below its 52-week high of $495, reached in June.

For now, traders are watching whether the October swing low holds as Broadcom attempts to build a stronger base.

Analyst Outlook

Wall Street remains bullish on Broadcom. Analysts have a consensus Buy rating and an average price forecast of $521.85.

On Oct. 22, Tigress Financial initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a $600 price forecast.

Earlier, Piper Sandler initiated coverage with an Overweight rating and a $460 price forecast on Sept. 10.

Similarly, Citigroup maintained its Buy rating and raised its price forecast to $515 on Sept. 4.

These forecasts suggest analysts see significant upside potential. However, Broadcom’s premium valuation could leave shares vulnerable if growth disappoints.

ETFs With Significant Broadcom Exposure

Broadcom holds substantial weight in several exchange-traded products, making it sensitive to fund-related trading activity.

The Invesco PHLX Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SOXQ) has a 9.27% weighting in Broadcom. Meanwhile, the MicroSectors FANG+ 3x Leveraged ETN (NYSE:FNGU) carries a 9.97% weighting.

Additionally, the Inspire 500 ETF (NYSE:PTL) has a 9.95% weighting in the semiconductor company.

These sizable positions could expose Broadcom to additional buying or selling during fund inflows, outflows and portfolio rebalancing.
