GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) reports third-quarter earnings before the bell Wednesday, with its shares recovering from last week’s sharp selloff.
The stock climbed around 2.5% Tuesday but remains roughly 26% below its July peak.
On Kalshi, traders are betting on what CEO Scott Strazik and his team will say during the 7:30 a.m. ET call.
Analysts expect earnings of $4.03 per share on revenue of $12.1 billion, up 146% and 21% year over year, respectively, according to Zacks.
“Nuclear” leads at 97%. GE Vernova developed the BWRX-300 small modular nuclear reactor, with the first under construction in Canada. A company planning to build 14 of GE Vernova’s reactors in Britain signed a preliminary agreement last week with a potential operator.
“Electricity” follows at 92%, while “Data Center” appearing at least three times trades at 90%.
GE Vernova booked more than $5 billion in orders from data center customers in the first half.
Strazik expects data centers to account for a smaller share of new orders for its electricity-grid equipment in the second half, falling from nearly 40% to around 20%. However, he expects the company’s backlog of data center orders to keep growing.
“Tariff” trades at 91%, with “Inflation” at 85%. GE Vernova expects tariffs to cost $100 million to $200 million this year.
The company said higher selling prices and improved manufacturing efficiency more than offset rising costs in the second quarter, helping boost profit margins.
“Prolec” appearing at least three times sits at 83%. GE Vernova paid $5.275 billion in February to take full ownership of the transformer manufacturer, expanding its capacity to supply electricity-grid equipment as demand from AI data centers surges.
“Robotic / Robotics” follows at 82%. GE Vernova acquired Canadian automation specialist Robotech in July to improve manufacturing efficiency.
“Vietnam / India” trades at 51%, with either country counting. Strazik said in September that GE Vernova had secured an Indian power-grid project worth nearly $1.5 billion, which he expects to book in the fourth quarter.
“BWRX-300” trades at just 46%, despite nuclear leading at 97%. Traders expect nuclear power to feature without management naming its flagship reactor.
“Trump / Administration” sits at 41%, compared with 91% for “Tariff,” suggesting management may discuss trade policy without mentioning President Donald Trump or his administration.
“Songon” trades at 24%, despite GE Vernova announcing a contract last week to supply a gas turbine for a 372-megawatt power plant in Ivory Coast.
“Blade” sits at 23%. GE Vernova’s Wind segment reported a $275 million EBITDA loss in the second quarter, compared with $165 million a year earlier.
Kalshi traders expect plenty of discussion about electricity demand, but investors want to see that demand turning into firm orders.
GE Vernova ended June with a $176 billion backlog, plus 53 gigawatts of firm turbine orders and another 63 gigawatts in reservations.
Bank of America analyst Andrew Obin expects third-quarter orders to rise 44% to $21 billion, below Wall Street’s $22.2 billion consensus.
Following the recent AI infrastructure selloff, investors will also be looking for improving profit margins.
