2 ASX shares tipped by brokers to jump 139% or higher over the next 12 months

ASX shares are climbing higher in Wednesday lunchtime trade thanks to a good session on Wall Street overnight, lower gold prices, and easing inflation concerns.

Here are two ASX shares that brokers expect to outperform broader indexes over the next 12 months, and they're each expected to climb over 139%.

Sinclair Gold Ltd (ASX: SGC) shares

The ASX gold miner's shares are up around 4% in Wednesday lunchtime trade, to $1.06 a piece. Today's increase means the shares have now rebounded around 6% from a year to date low of $1 on Monday.

The increase is good news for investors but barely makes a dent in the losses that Sinclair Gold shares have shed so far in 2026.

The shares rocketed higher in December last year, climbing 177% within the month following news of a major asset acquisition and a capital raising announcement.

The shares spiked at an eight-year high in early-March, but then tumbled downwards. At the time of writing, the ASX gold shares are trading around 55% lower than their March high, and they've lost 12% over the past month.

It looks like most of the downturn is due to gold price volatility this year. The precious metal is trading at around US$4,059 per ounce at the time of writing on Wednesday. This is significantly lower than the high of around US$5,400 in January. Over the past month alone, the price of gold has fallen 3%.

There hasn't been any price-sensitive news out of the company this week to explain the latest 6% share price increase. It's most likely due to a shift in sentiment for the company ahead of its upcoming annual general meeting (AGM) next month.

But the experts are bullish that we'll see big things out of the gold miner over the next 12 months. Market Index data shows that all analysts have a buy rating on the shares. The $3.02 average target price implies a huge 183% potential upside ahead, at the time of writing.

NextDC Ltd (ASX: NXT) shares

NextDC shares were pushed into the spotlight early last week after it saw around 42% off its value wiped off the table within a couple of days.

But at the time of writing on Wednesday, the shares have jumped around 10% higher, to $6.30 each. The increase means the shares have now rebounded around 18% since the crash. But they're still down a huge 49% for the year to date.

The downturn occurred following the data centre operator's update to the market. The company told investors it had suffered a delay in delivering electricity to its M3 Melbourne data centre. This then forced management to substantially lower its FY27 guidance figures.

The update spooked investors and many rushed to sell off their shares.

But it looks like many now realise that the sell-off was overdone and some bargain-hunting investors are creeping back in to snap up the stock for cheap.

The experts are still bullish that NextDC can turn its share price around. Market Index data shows the majority still have a buy rating on the technology shares. The $15.12 average target price implies a potential upside of around 139% at the time of writing.
