06:03 AM EDT, 10/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Equinor (EQNR.OL) raised its 2026 output forecast as it reported a year-over-year surge in third-quarter adjusted net income, boosted by stronger oil and gas prices. The Norwegian energy group on Wednesday reported adjusted net income of $2.86 billion for the third quarter, compared with $932 million in the same period a year ago. On a reported basis, attributable net income came in at $2.54 billion, compared with a year-ago loss of $210 million, while revenue jumped to $32.94 billion from $26.02 billion. "High production in the third quarter enabled us to capture additional value from higher prices," President and Chief Executive Anders Opedal said. The company also noted that international liftings were lower than the company's share of production, resulting in lower sales volumes. For the third quarter, the company's total equity production stood at 2.2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, reflecting a 2% increase year over year. The international oil and gas segment logged a 21% production increase, while renewable power generation surged 26%. The company raised its 2026 oil and gas production growth outlook to 4% from 3%, based on "safe and efficient operations." Equinor's board also raised the third-quarter dividend to $0.39 per share from the $0.37 per share paid the previous year. It also launched the fourth and final tranche of its 2026 stock repurchase program of up to $1.13 billion. Equinor's shares were marginally lower during early trading in Oslo.
