07:55 AM EDT, 10/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Glencore (GLEN.L, GLN.JO) is nearing two multibillion-dollar asset sales that could leave a more streamlined business, London's Financial Times reported Wednesday. Chief Executive Officer Gary Nagle told investors at a closed-door conference that 2027 could be a bumper year for cash returns, according to the publication. The commodities giant is in talks to sell a 40% stake in its assets in the Democratic Republic of Congo to US-backed Orion Critical Mineral Consortium, a deal that Nagle said could be reached by early next year. Nagle added that Glencore remains in discussions to sell its controlling stake in Kazakh zinc and gold producer Kazzinc to a local investor. Glencore had no comment when reached by MT Newswires.
