08:05 AM EDT, 10/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sandoz Group (SDZ.SW) Chief Executive Richard Saynor said the European Union's proposal to remove amoxicillin from its list of critical medicines would expose the company to greater competition from Chinese and Indian manufacturers, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday. The move threatens the Switzerland-listed drugmaker's dedicated amoxicillin production plant in Kundl, Austria, the CEO said in an interview, adding that the company would soon decide whether to continue manufacturing the penicillin-class antibiotic in Europe.
