Constellium came into Q3 2026 earnings with a stock that has sagged recently, down about 14% over three months, and the initial reaction stayed muted. The share price slipped a modest 0.5% on the day to US$24.43, which does not really match what the aluminium specialist just put on the board.
The company posted record Q3 adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of US$276 million and lifted full year guidance, supported by free cash flow of US$128 million in the quarter. For an equity story often framed around high debt and forecast earnings pressure, this quarter was about cash, discipline and a balance sheet that quietly improved.

Earnings grab attention, but investors who care about what Constellium is really worth tend to watch the cash coming in and out of the business. On Constellium's recent cash flows alone, the stock could be a solid 19% undervalued.
The bullish script hinges on execution, not slogans.
"The main requirement for this view is continued execution on recycling and casting investments and aerospace capacity expansion, so that recently reported record adjusted EBITDA, stronger scrap spreads and higher value mix remain durable rather than temporary."
Constellium just produced another record quarter of adjusted EBITDA with free cash flow of US$128 million and raised full year guidance, which supports the idea that higher scrap spreads and mix are feeding through to cash. Recycling projects at Neuf Brisach are moving toward higher utilization and aerospace shipments rose, so early milestones on that execution checklist are being met rather than slipping.

Bearish research argues that Constellium’s big recycling push could misfire.
"Although Constellium is investing about US$100 million of return seeking capex in 2026 into aerospace and recycling projects that target high internal rates of return, execution risk at Muscle Shoals, Ravenswood and related casting assets remains."
Current numbers partly blunt that concern. Record adjusted EBITDA and more than US$300 million expected free cash flow for 2026 show existing assets earning well, and Neuf Brisach is already nearing higher utilization. Yet key projects such as Muscle Shoals and the third Airware casthouse are still before full ramp-up, so the feared under delivery has not been disproved, only postponed for judgment.
Constellium just showed how a strong quarter can still leave the share price largely unmoved. The real opportunity could be finding stocks that look mispriced before the crowd catches up.
