According to Woofun AI, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT.US) related wallet under BLK.US (BLK.US) recently received about $277 million in BTC assets. This large-scale flow is at a time when the BTC price is hovering around $80,000, highlighting the market's strong interest in institutions' continued buying intentions.
Judging from transaction details, as of the 28th (Korea time), a total of 3441.176 BTC has been transferred from Coinbase (COIN.US) Prime to multiple IBIT-linked addresses controlled by BlackRock (BLK.US) in the past 3 to 5 hours.
According to data compiled by Woofun AI, the total value of this batch of assets was about 276.7 million US dollars at the current market price. The transfer operation was split into multiple executions. The main part was carried out in units of 300 BTC each, and the end was complemented by a small transfer of 141.176 BTC. Coinbase (COIN.US) Prime is an infrastructure carrier used by BlackRock to host BTC held by IBIT as a platform that provides trading and escrow services for institutional investors and asset management companies.
Notably, such large-scale capital flows involving spot ETF underlying asset wallets may either stem from position adjustments caused by investors' subscriptions and redemptions, or simply internal asset reallocation due to inter-agency escrow requirements. As a result, based on the number of transfers recorded on the chain alone, it is not yet possible to determine exactly how large a new purchase size or net ETF inflow represents, since these BTCs may also simply have moved positions between different escrow nodes.
This information asymmetry between asset allocation and actual market demand that can be seen on the chain makes it extremely challenging to simply rely on transfer records to predict institutional trends. Following many previous rounds of ETF position fluctuations, the market is once again facing the problem of how to gain insight into the actual flow of capital through the appearance of escrow operations.
