If Getinge sat on your watchlist instead of in your account over 2026, the outcome may feel like a missed call. For Getinge shareholders, the return from the start of the year was 28.0%, including dividends. That result came after a fierce split between bullish hopes for digital health and infection control and bearish worries about tariffs and regulation. The real question is whether the digital and infection control push was already strong enough on record to outweigh those cost and policy risks.

The shares cost SEK218 at the start of the period, and anyone looking at Getinge then had to pick between two very different stories.
The bullish camp thought the fair value was SEK236, a price that reflected confidence in digital health tools and infection control products helping revenue grow 5.1% with profit margins at 8.4% over three years.
The cautious view put fair value at SEK165, based on the risk that rising tariffs and tighter regulation would lift costs and squeeze profitability despite any efficiency work.
Getinge’s Q3 2026 report put hard numbers against both stories. Revenue moved from SEK8,226m in Q3 2025 to SEK8,446m in Q3 2026, while net income rose from SEK566m to SEK719m and net margin widened from 6.9% to 8.5%. That combination of higher sales and higher profitability supported the optimistic case about digital health and infection control doing real work in the accounts.
The lesson is simple. When a thesis leans on better profitability, check whether net margin actually moves toward the forecast, not just whether revenue or the share price looks healthy.
Getinge now trades at SEK272, up from SEK218 from the start of the year. The selected Narrative’s Fair Value sits below the current price, so its authors see today’s level as already baking in much of the recent progress.
The Narrative focuses on whether higher recurring and high margin revenue and quality cost unwind really feed through to stronger EBITA. A buyer at SEK272 is effectively assuming this margin lift arrives as planned. The key question is how tariff, litigation and China spending risks affect that path.
"The numbers imply that Getinge’s share price already reflects successful delivery on recurring revenue growth, margin targets and regulatory remediation, leaving limited room for disappointment on tariffs, litigation outcomes or slower China and pharma capital spending."
