01:47 AM EDT, 10/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- RBC Capital Markets believes robust fourth-quarter execution will be critical for Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F, AIR.MC) to rebuild investor trust following "largely in-line" third-quarter results and recent supply chain headwinds. "We can appreciate that Airbus faces a steep ramp in 4Q26 to meet its full-year guide. However, we believe investors are already looking through 2026, especially after the company provided its mid-term 2029 targets, which we still view as conservative. Recent quality and supplier issues have kept investor confidence in the 2029 outlook in check, but we believe Airbus has the opportunity to improve investor confidence with a strong 4Q26, and then a constructive 2027 guide in early 2027," analysts said Wednesday. The research firm noted that third-quarter revenue fell 2% year over year to 17.47 billion euros, missing consensus by 3%, while adjusted EBIT dropped 9% to 1.77 billion euros, 1% below expectations. Despite temporary quality issues with the A330 and A320, which are "now largely resolved," RBC highlighted management's "encouraging" outlook with its commentary on orders. Analysts added that they see potential upside for Airbus' defense division, backed by management's continued confidence in supply chain recovery and execution improvements. Against this backdrop, RBC retained its outperform rating and price target of 240 euros on the stock. The research firm also trimmed its full-year 2026 to 2028 revenue and adjusted EBIT forecasts, while raising its adjusted diluted EPS estimates for 2026 and 2027 then lowering its 2028 projection.
