Reporter: On October 25, the Eastern War Zone first released a poster on the theme of Taiwan's Liberation Day, proposing to remember the history of liberation and defend the unity of mountains and rivers. I would like to ask the speaker how he understood the relationship between Taiwan's liberation and safeguarding national unity. Ministry of National Defense spokesman Colonel Zhang Xiaogang said that the restoration of Taiwan was an important achievement of victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, an important proof that the Chinese government resumed the exercise of sovereignty over Taiwan, a historical fact that Taiwan is a part of China, and a national memory shared by all the sons and daughters of China. The Chinese People's Liberation Army resolutely thwarted any form of secessionist attempt for “Taiwan independence” and interference by outside forces, and carried out the sacred mission of defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
