05:24 AM EDT, 10/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- First Abu Dhabi Bank (ADX:FAB) posted solid third-quarter results, bolstered by strong income generation and broad-based momentum across its core business segments. For the three months ended Sept. 30, net profit attributable to shareholders of the bank came in at 5.74 billion Emirati dirhams, up from 5.39 billion dirhams a year ago. As for the first nine months, attributable net profit climbed 3% year over year to 16.46 billion dirhams. Total net interest income and income from Islamic financing and investing products grew to 5.50 billion dirhams for the third quarter and 16.98 billion dirhams for the nine months, up from 5.19 billion dirhams and 15.28 billion dirhams, respectively. The bank attributed the growth to expanded business volumes, stronger margins resulting from "disciplined pricing, effective treasury management and higher interest in suspense recoveries." Meanwhile, net fee and commission income for the quarter increased to 1.41 billion dirhams from 1.22 billion dirhams. Operating income came in at 10.21 billion dirhams, up from 9.34 billion dirhams in the same three-month period a year earlier. Loans and advances rose 10% year to date to 679 billion dirhams, while customer deposits grew 5% over the period to 885 billion dirhams. "This performance reflects sustained growth across our businesses, the strength and scale of our diversified platform, and the continued expansion of our global franchise. It also highlights our ability to deliver consistent returns while maintaining a strong financial position," Group Chief Executive Officer Hana Al Rostamani said. The bank's shares fell 3% as of midday in Abu Dhabi.
