On a per-share basis, the West Chicago, Illinois-based company said it had a loss of 66 cents. Losses, adjusted to account for discontinued operations and non-recurring costs, were 3 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 5 cents per share.

The wheel and tire supplier posted revenue of $335.2 million in the period.
