The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 88 cents per share.

The provider of equipment and services to energy companies posted revenue of $2.9 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.78 billion.

FMC Technologies expects full-year revenue in the range of $10.75 billion to $11.1 billion.
