The beloved fried chocolate chip cookie dough bites are back and better than ever before...because everyone loves a little nookie

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- After thousands of requests across social media, guest emails and reviews, Torchy's Tacos is giving its Taco Junkies what they've been craving. Nookies, the beloved dessert, are officially back on menus. Because everyone loves a little nookie: fried, gooey chocolate chip cookie dough bites tossed in cinnamon sugar.

Torchy’s fan-favorite Nookies are crispy, deep-fried chocolate chip cookie dough bites served warm for a sweet, indulgent treat.

First introduced as Lil' Nookies in 2008, the dessert quickly became a fan favorite for its warm chocolate chip cookie dough center and golden-fried exterior. Now, after a more than two-year hiatus, the Torchy's culinary team has brought back the treat with a new cinnamon-sugar finish.

"At Torchy's, we're always looking for ways to push the boundaries of what guests expect from our menu, whether that means introducing something completely new or bringing back a longtime favorite like Nookies and somehow making it even more delicious," said Paul Macaluso, chief executive officer of Torchy's Tacos. "The intersection of culinary creativity, craveable flavors and listening to our guests continues to shape our menu innovation."

Earlier this year, Torchy's introduced nachos to the menu for the first time after, years of guest demand. And recently, Torchy's introduced Taco Two-Step as a new deal inspired by Taco Junkies asking for more value around combo meals. Available for a limited time through Nov. 10, guests are encouraged to try the Taco Two-Step before it's gone.

Torchy's continues to bring its signature culinary creativity to November with two Taco and Drink of the Month offerings, available for a limited time throughout November. The Rebel Yell Taco features grilled shrimp, crispy bacon, cabbage slaw, jack cheese and guajillo fried onions, finished with smoky BBQ sauce and chipotle ranch on a fresh flour tortilla. Guests can sip on November's Drink of the Month, the Pineapple Margarita, made with tequila, Grand Marnier, real pineapple puree and lime juice.

The menu releases come as Torchy's celebrates its 20th anniversary year and looks ahead to what's next, building on the fan favorites that have built a loyal following over the past two decades while continuing to experiment with new flavors, value offerings and menu ideas informed by guest feedback.

Loyalty program members got the first bite of Nookies, with exclusive early access via a secret menu one week in advance. For access to more exclusive early access and to start earning points that unlock free food, queso and more, sign up here for Torchy's Tacos Rewards.
