The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.25 per share.

The maker of outdoor gear posted revenue of $962.6 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $938.1 million.

Columbia Sportswear expects full-year earnings to be $4.65 to $4.90 per share, with revenue in the range of $3.46 billion to $3.5 billion.
