MiMedx Group stock barely budged after its Q3 2026 earnings, ticking up just 0.5% to US$3.97. The muted move hides a far louder message in the results. The company is still reporting losses, yet Q3 delivered an 80% gross margin and a return to positive adjusted EBITDA of about US$2 million, which matters in a capital hungry biotech world.
Short term traders may shrug at a flat chart. Long term investors are weighing those margins against a low P/S multiple and a balance sheet sitting on roughly US$121 million of net cash.

The bullish view hinges on MiMedx Group turning Surgical into the growth and earnings engine that offsets pressure in Wound Care.
"Growing adoption of MiMedx products across multiple surgical specialties, supported by dedicated commercial resources and products like AmnioFix, AMNIOEFFECT and newly licensed 510(k) products, can support sustained surgical net sales and operating leverage, as this segment already represents the larger share of revenue."
Q3 results give that claim some real-world backing. Surgical net sales reached about US$40 million with mid teens volume growth and 9% revenue growth, and management highlighted broad uptake across key product lines plus contribution from new 510(k) cleared offerings. Together with US$2 million of adjusted EBITDA and an 80% gross margin, the quarter shows the cost base now responding to the higher Surgical mix, even as Wound Care revenue remains under pressure.

The worry is that MiMedx Group keeps spending heavily on Surgical while earnings fail to keep up.
"The expansion of the dedicated Surgical sales force and continued R&D spending on new amniotic and complementary products supports growth ambitions. However, if Surgical revenue does not keep pace with these higher operating costs, the result could be a lower adjusted EBITDA margin and reduced earnings compared with current levels."
Q3 shows some relief on that front. Surgical net sales grew 9% with mid teens volume growth and adjusted EBITDA turned positive at US$2m. Yet the business still reported a GAAP net loss of US$8.7m and Wound Care revenue fell 71%, so profitability remains fragile and heavily dependent on further Surgical scale.
MiMedx Group just showed how a cleaner margin story does not always move the share price much. The real opportunity is finding stocks that could be undervalued before the market corrects them.
