The Q3 2026 report from Climb Global Solutions hit the tape with a jolt and traders reacted fast. The stock ripped 26.3% in a single session, catapulting from the low 30s into the low 40s as investors rushed to price in what looked like a breakout quarter.
Yet that price spike tells only part of the story. Record net sales of US$220.3m and net income of US$7.9m created a powerful headline, but the real driver of sentiment was the margin picture. Effective profitability on gross profit improved, which is exactly what a richly valued distributor needs when the market is already debating a 32.8x P/E.
Love the record sales and stronger profitability at Climb Global Solutions, but uneasy paying a rich 32.8x P/E for a distributor. Check out our screener of quality companies with more modest valuations and resilient balance sheets through the 30 high quality undervalued stocks.
Earnings grab headlines, yet investors who care about what they are paying for Climb Global Solutions usually follow the cash coming through the business. Cash flows tell you how easily profits turn into money that can fund growth, acquisitions, or buybacks.
Through that cash flow lens, Climb Global Solutions' recent numbers plug into a valuation model that suggests the stock could be a notable 25% undervalued.
Supporters argue that heavier spending on vendors and tech should now be feeding through to richer profitability at Climb Global Solutions.
"The main factor that has to work in Climb’s favor is converting its heavier spend on areas such as Fortinet resources, IT infrastructure and cloud marketplace development into higher effective margins, while avoiding a permanent increase in SG&A."
Q3 landed closer to that ambition than earlier 2026 quarters. Effective margin on gross profit improved to 44.6%, while SG&A of US$20.9m fell to 3.0% of gross billings. Record adjusted EBITDA of US$14.7m, up faster than gross profit, points to early operating leverage from those projects.
Skeptics worry that a heavy acquisition plan and big IT projects could inflate overheads and mute earnings progress.
"The company is leaning heavily on acquisitions in Europe, the U.K., Greece and South Africa. Leadership is openly targeting around US$100 million of acquired gross billings each year and considering larger, debt funded deals, so any misstep on purchase price, integration or culture fit could leave Climb with higher SG&A and financing costs than expected, which would pressure net margins and adjusted EBITDA."
So far the numbers lean the other way. Interworks is described as performing on plan, NeoVAD has closed, there is no debt, cash sits at US$66.9m, and SG&A intensity eased even as M&A and IT spending continued.
