What HUB24 Holders Got Wrong Before The Slide
Share
Listen to the news

HUB24 kept posting stronger numbers, with higher revenue, rising profit and a wider net margin, yet shareholders watching the ticker saw a very different story. For HUB24 shareholders, the loss from the start of the year was 23.9%, including dividends. If you had been weighing a position back on 1 January 2026, how much of that slide was already hinted at in the early bullish and bearish arguments on record?

HUB24 has already moved. See which of 2 high quality undervalued stocks still trade below our estimates.

The Two HUB24 Stories Investors Had To Weigh

The shares cost A$96.25 at the start of the period, and HUB24 sat between two very different stories about where its platform business might head next.

On the upbeat side, the bullish narrative pointed to a Fair Value of A$115, a price level implied by assumptions of accelerating adviser penetration and an ecosystem that could drive faster revenue expansion and higher margins over time.

The bearish view anchored on a Fair Value of A$40, based on the risk that rising digital competition, tighter regulation, and adviser consolidation would compress fees and limit long term earnings power.

What The Results Changed For The HUB24 Debate

HUB24’s H2 2026 report showed revenue of A$252.947m and net income of A$60.504m, with net margin rising to 23.9%. That pattern supported the bullish focus on higher profitability and scale benefits. Q1 FY27 net inflows of A$4.0b and platform FUA of A$143.7b also backed the growth story, yet softer inflows and regulatory pressure kept the cautious case alive. Overall, the evidence cut both ways.

The hinge assumption was how far adviser inflows and margin expansion could stretch. For any other platform stock, you would test that same claim against reported net inflows, FUA growth and the direction of the net margin line every results season.

What HUB24’s Lower Price Now Asks You To Believe

HUB24 trades at A$72.11, after the shares fell 23.9% from the start of the year. The selected Narrative still places its Fair Value above that level, based on a view that the platform’s scale and adviser reach can support stronger cash generation than the current mood implies.

The differentiator in this Narrative is the belief that HUB24’s myhub tools, adviser share gains and data layer can lock the platform deeper into everyday advice workflows. For that higher figure to hold, a buyer today would need to judge that HUB24 can keep winning advisers and embedding its AI and data tools faster than costs eat into earnings.

"The myhub ecosystem and AI enabled tools such as advice review, virtual mailroom, intelligent matching and Engage reporting, when combined with the HUBconnect data layer, can deepen HUB24’s role in adviser and accountant workflows and support higher average revenue per user and stickier earnings streams from software and platform fees."

HUB24 And One Step Away

Looking at HUB24, you are really watching how money moves. Each transfer highlights another recurring digital need.

Every online purchase still has to cross a secure network. One focused payments specialist can collect a fee whenever that happens.

The business does not lend or take on credit losses. It concentrates on processing, security tools and data services around those payments.

That structure can shape what lands on your watchlist. As electronic spending habits evolve, the importance of these payment rails can evolve too.

That argument has a Narrative and a number behind it. → See the company one Narrative values 18% above its price
