The CPC Central Committee held a press conference on the morning of October 30 to introduce and interpret the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Hu Heping, vice-minister of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee in charge of daily work, said that the strong party character of the Chinese Communist Party is an important guarantee for our Party to maintain its vanguard and purity and improve its leadership level and ability to govern. The “Decision of the CPC Central Committee on Persistently Promoting Comprehensive and Strict Governance of the Party” places “strengthening the Party character of the Communist Party” as the first part of the strategic task deployment. It suggests that strengthening party character is a fundamental task of comprehensively and strictly governing the Party, and pushes Party members and cadres to strengthen party culture as a lifelong topic, and work hard to firmly establish ideals and beliefs, forge loyalty to the Party, cultivate feelings for the people, and insist on seeking truth from facts, pure moral quality, and maintaining cleanliness and integrity.
