The Zhitong Finance App learned that New Oriental-S (09901) rebounded more than 7%. As of press release, it had risen 7.18% to HK$39.4, with a turnover of HK$89.1824 million.

According to the news, New Oriental recently announced its results for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year ending the end of August. Net revenue was US$1,874 million, up 23.1% year on year, and the revenue growth rate exceeded the company's annual guideline growth rate of 14%-18%; net profit attributable to shareholders was US$273 million, up 13.5% year on year; operating profit of US$375 million, up 20.5% year on year; and non-GAAP net profit of US$301 million, up 16.5% year on year.

Morton Daikon believes that New Oriental's profit margin for the first fiscal quarter was slightly lower than expected and profit was 3% lower than expected, but revenue increased 23% year over year. Management reiterated the 2027 fiscal year guidance and predicted that growth would accelerate in the second fiscal quarter. The pressure on profit margins is also manageable, and management still expects profit margins to expand throughout the year, despite the seasonal combination of social security contributions, severance costs, and Oriental Selection. The bank believes that New Oriental is one of the few shares in the Chinese consumer sector with a continuous and compound growth story.
