The Oxford, Connecticut-based company said it had profit of $2.96 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $3.74 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.55 per share.

The maker of bearings and components posted revenue of $524.6 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $516.2 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, RBC Bearings said it expects revenue in the range of $520 million to $525 million.
