Etteplan Oyj stock has been under pressure, with the shares down about 11% over the past month and closing at €6.86 on Friday, even as fresh Q3 2026 figures hit the tape. On the surface, the quarter looked soft for an engineering and technology services group, with revenue of €78.7m and basic earnings per share of €0.09.
The real story sits in profitability. Margins across the past year remain thin at a 2.6% net level, which keeps every small shock in demand uncomfortably visible in the income statement and turns each new quarter into a test of the longer term equity story.

The bullish story hangs on Etteplan turning AI and managed services into a higher quality earnings engine.
"Rapid progress in developing and deploying proprietary AI-driven service solutions has now translated into AI-driven revenue of 6% of group sales in H1 2026 and close to 20% within Technical Communication and Data Solutions."
Q3 shows that promise is real but not yet strong enough to reframe the group. AI revenue has ticked up to 7% and Software & Embedded EBITA improved after restructuring. However, group net margin still sits near 2.6% and Q3 revenue fell 4.6%, which caps how much credit this shift can claim today.
The bear case argues that weak end markets and tough turnarounds could swamp those AI and mix benefits.
"Persistent weakness in key customer sectors, especially automotive and forest industry where demand remains soft and automotive revenue share has already declined, could outweigh the healthier project flow in energy, aerospace and defense and keep Etteplan Oyj's utilization, revenue and EBITA margins under pressure."
Q3 largely backs that concern. Automotive, general industrial machinery and forest customers stayed weak, particularly in Sweden and Germany, and group revenue declined 4.6% with EBITA only 6.1%. Restructuring in Software & Embedded is helping earnings in that unit, but at group level utilization still looks fragile and cash generation weakened.
