GoDaddy (GDDY) Stock Jumps After Q3 Earnings Despite Balance Sheet Risks
Share
Listen to the news

GoDaddy just put Q3 2026 on the board with a clean headline. Revenue landed at about US$1.34b and basic earnings per share came in a little above US$2, yet the bigger story is on the tape. The stock ripped roughly 11% today, extending a strong multi month run, as traders latched onto what looks like an earnings and cash flow story running ahead of the old valuation stigma.

Here is the catch. That one day surge is colliding with a more complicated picture around negative shareholders’ equity and leverage. This leaves a real question about whether this price move reflects conviction or pure fear of missing out.

Love the clean Q3 headline from GoDaddy but uneasy about the negative equity and leverage behind that 11% surge? Compare this setup with a curated group of financially sturdier stocks in our list of solid balance sheet and fundamentals stocks (25 results)

Evaluating GoDaddy’s AI Upside Against Hard Numbers

The bullish pitch hangs on AI products deepening customer relationships rather than just adding one more tool.

"A key factor is that GoDaddy uses Airo and its Applications & Commerce bundles to encourage more customers to adopt multiple products, maintain retention above 85% and support free cash flow alongside its AI investment."

Q3 results give that idea real backing. Management reports overall retention above 85%, more than 70% of Airo users holding at least two paid products and near perfect retention for customers spending over US$500 a year with multiple services. Normalized EBITDA margin around 33% and trailing free cash flow of about US$1.8b show those broader relationships already translating into cash.

GoDaddy Bear Case: AI Bookings Up, Pricing Overhang Persists

Bearish investors worry that GoDaddy’s AI push reshapes bookings in ways that do not fully pay off.

"While self service Airo experiences are starting to replace higher ticket do it for you website projects, the reported narrowing pipeline for these upfront contracts points to a shift from several thousand dollar one time deals to lower priced subscriptions and token usage that may not fully offset lost bookings."

Q3 shows Airo bookings run rate jumping to more than US$100m and overall bookings rising 6%, so the feared collapse is not in the numbers. The concern on monetization mix lingers though, because management still flags lower gross margin for Airo and only reaffirms, rather than lifts, margin and free cash flow targets.

Hunt For Mispriced Earnings Power

GoDaddy recently showed how sentiment can shift when earnings results and a clear narrative align. The real opportunity is in finding stocks that could be undervalued before any valuation gaps are addressed.

  • Company 1 - 31% below our estimate - builds large-scale AI superclusters that major model providers use to secure compute capacity and resilience.
  • Company 2 - 37% below our estimate - folds recent acquisitions into a unified platform while shifting customers toward lower-cost, stickier deposits and upgraded digital banking tools.
  • Company 3 - 38% below our estimate - ramps high horsepower engine capacity to support expanding data center power projects and directs capital to its most profitable power lines.

That is three of the list. See the full list of 29 companies trading below our fair value estimates →
