Gencom, with White Bridge Capital, acquired the iconic InterContinental Miami, a 652-room waterfront hotel for $300 million (Bloomberg). The 34-story hotel is situated at 100 Chopin Plaza. It has a prominent waterfront location in the heart of Miami’s business and cultural center. Strategic Hotels and Resorts was the seller.

The new owners plan to rework the lobby of the 80’s vintage hotel and update food and beverage options. The property has 35 meeting rooms and more than 90,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Other facilities include a rooftop pool, cabanas, a spa, a fitness center, a business center and retail outlets. Dining options include a Pan-Latin steakhouse and Bluewater, a rooftop restaurant and bar, among others.

The deal marks Gencom’s second InterContinental acquisition, following its purchase of the brand’s New York Times Square hotel in late 2025, and expands a Miami portfolio that includes The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove.
