04:06 AM EST, 11/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Operating conditions in Italy's manufacturing sector deteriorated in October for the second time in three months as weak domestic demand led to a renewed decline in output, new orders, and employment, S&P Global said Monday. The S&P Global Italy Manufacturing PMI dropped to 49.4 from 50.4 in September and the consensus estimate of 49.9. The below-50 reading marked the weakest performance since January, dragged down further by cost pressures due to the Middle East conflict.
