05:04 AM EST, 11/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- HSBC (HSBA.L) plans to open an AI and emerging technology institute in Hong Kong in the first quarter of 2027, Reuters reported Monday, citing Group Chief Executive Officer Georges Elhedery. Speaking at Hong Kong's Fintech Week event, Elhedery said the bank's planned institute will team up with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as its anchor academic partner.
