“We can't just look at the printing business to see whether printing can uncover new growth, but we can provide more new added value, such as AI functions.” On October 29, Jin Weidong, global vice president of Hewlett-Packard and general manager of the printer and consumables products division in Greater China, told Caixin and other media that the trend of AI being applied to traditional devices is unavoidable. If it cannot adapt to users' habits of adopting new technology and only sells printing hardware and consumables, the company will be eliminated by the times. On the same day, HP released 13 “AI learning printers” in Hangzhou. According to the HP press conference, the AI functions of these printers are implemented through the “HP Printing AI Academy” newly added to the HP WeChat Mini Program. AI can be used to feedback tasks, sort out errors, and provide teaching aids, printing template libraries, and printing resources. According to HP, AI learning printers can more easily transform digital content into paper materials that can be read, written, and practiced over and over again.
