After the market on Monday EST, Apple CEO John Turnus said at the earnings conference that the rise in memory prices is dragging down the company's gross margin in the new quarter from month to month. He said, “The memory pricing we're seeing right now is unprecedented. As we said earlier in the September fiscal quarter, we did see higher memory costs compared to the June fiscal quarter, partially offset by deferred inventory earnings and lower costs for certain non-memory components. For the December fiscal quarter, we expect memory costs to be higher.”
